3rd year OEC student
Now that the school year has already started, Student Government has begun organizing events for OEC. This year’s student government elections are coming up in a few weeks. In preparation, candidates will be giving speeches at Town Meeting on Friday. Elections will take place through the Focus classrooms where each Focus class will elect two trustees in addition to a school-wide election for officers, specifically president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. The trustees will serve as representatives for their Focus classes and will assist the officers in organizing OEC events. The president will serve as primary head of student government while the vice president will mainly deal with organization. The treasurer is in charge of handling funds and the secretary will deal with communication.
The student government has more plans for prospective events, according to Josh Finney, a member of the student government. Some of these plans include:
·Charity Ball Dance
·Thanksgiving or Winter Potluck
·February- Valentine’s Dance
·June-End of Year Picnic
·School Piston games
·Wendy’s Fundraising
For more information on how to get involved, please seek Josh Finney or Emma Green.
