There are many haunted houses opening their creaky doors this month to chill your spine and darken your nightmares. Below you can get the low down on the creepiest haunted houses in Metro Detroit. There are lots of frights and sights that await you. Read on if you dare!

Are you someone looking for a real scare?
Check out Erebus located in Pontic, MI, where you'll find four levels of monster mayhem awaiting you at the world’s second largest haunted house. Erebus leads its victims through four stories of unique and terrifying paths. There is a different freaky theme on each level. Those weak of heart may not make it through and you'll be tracked down and forced to sign the wimp board. Floors drop, shake, slant, walls close in, and mutant spiders attack. This is for those who really want a scare.
Open 7-11pm Mon-Thur, 6 pm-1 am Fri and Sat, and 6-11 pm on Sundays.
Dates open Oct 21-31, and Nov. 1st.

Those looking for a medium scare should check out the Haunted Winery in Farmington, MI. Killers from the horror flicks come to life inside this 32 room winery. Be on the watch or you just might run into Freddy Kruger from “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” Through the years many unfortunate souls perished in and around the building. Some say their spirits still remain here. This spooky site was constructed from the ruins of an electric powerhouse. Cameras record people’s reactions as they make it through the terrifying spooky maze.
Hours are 7-10 pm on Oct 18th, 25th, and the 28th. 7:30 - midnight Fri and Sat through Oct 31st.
Admission: $10 adults, $5 children.

Those looking to try something different check out the Terrified Forest and Manor located in Pinckney, MI. Walk through the woods as the tall pines whisper for you to “come and join your departed ancestors.” If you choose to ignore them, they have been known to emerge out of a tree and make off with your soul. You will never when or where they will appear, but they will know where you are and strike at your most vulnerable moment. Walking through the woods you'll encounter ghouls, goblins, trolls, clowns, aliens, and much more. Hope you make your way through the black hole, funhouse, and maze. If you don't get lost in the woods, head over to the manor where you will encounter many other ghouls.
Forest is opened 8 pm- 12 am on Friday and Saturday and 11 pm all other nights.
Admission: Forest $15, Manor $7, both $20.
